Figured I’d go ahead and get a thread started to report on conditions following the drawdown and refill. I just drove by the Roanoke River in Roanoke and wow. In the short time I was in view of the river I saw several huge trees coming through and a steady stream of stuff you definitely don’t want to find with a lower unit. I suspect much of it will accumulate in the upper end as AEP should hold back a bit to refill. Hopefully they can skim it off before it gets spread out. There’s sure gonna be a lot of it.

Yep. The BW is the highest I’ve seen it in 12 years. There were some mighty log jams in there, I’m wondering if they got cleared out. If so, that’s a lot of trash incoming. Not to mention all the silt from the freshly harvested fields out here.

Probably, but I’d stay tuned here and maybe folks will be adding reports that can help with your decisions.

Johnr, from what your saying it sounds like the BW will be some sketchy fishing this weekend? especially if im jumping dock lights at night looking for ales?
Any info from guys that are there is very greatly appreciated.

I don’t know that I’d be traveling anywhere in the dark out there for the next several weeks. It’s messy.

Of course I’m sure that will change by the weekend but not sure how far down stained water and debris will be a problem.

Does anyone know where the mudline is on the Roanoke side?

Just crossed Hales Ford. Water looks good there. Saw no floaters. Would like to see another foot or so of water, but looks fairly normal there right now.

No mud line or trash about 1 mile south of beaver as of this evening. Its likely still filtering down, but mud/trash has to be around beaver to lynville.

Saw some photos of the B40 area on the Blackwater and it is not looking good - be careful if you are headed that way.
