I Have been looking at the Stryker t-tops for awhile now and have been debating to put a top on the boat. It's nice not having one when it's cool out but get really hot in the summer months. What are you guys thoughts on this?

I love the TTop look. However, the permanent aspect of them is what bothers me. Trailering, low bridges, lifts, my home boat house.. All of them are negatives for me. Thus, I actually had to get my boat custom ordered without the standard TTop.
The Bimini option is a pain if you are not savvy. However, if you are savvy, you can modify a Bimini to be rather solid and easily removable. I run WOT with mine on and it actually provides a lot more shade than a TTop.
If I only was on SML and lived there... I would get a TTop. Otherwise... I question if the positives outweigh the negatives.

Tha more shade is nice , i have neither but my next boat will have a nice bimini on it. Tha t-tops are very sharp but tha bimini will provide more cover from sun and rain , i agree wit Yam on this one.

Love my t-top - doubt I'd own a center console over 20ft now without one. Get one with curtains and you've just made cold winter runs much more enjoyable. I've had a Bimini but they're a pain to fish around - and just a pain to deal with in general IMO. Yam only has his on the boat when his wife says so!
A Stryker or Fishmaster ttop provides a good deal of flexibility as far as removal and lowering of it, if needed.

A Bimini top negates a center console's fundamental reason for being. The whole point of the center console is the ability to fish 360 degrees with no obstructions.

if you dont have to deal with the issues Yam noted...get a T Top....shade in the summer, protection from rain, protects electronics, a T Bag offers storage, ....lots of good pro's. I had a bimini on my last boat and it was deployed 90% of the time.

I have a house on the lake so I do not deal with transport issues with a T-Top. Aside from those challenges, the only negative that I find with my T-Top is the wind. A wind like we had yesterday is a real pain. If my boat did not have a T-Top I would definitely add one.

One of the best aspects of a T-top as Bentrod mentioned is being able to easily add the curtains. Since a good chunk of striper fishing is done in the cooler months it sure is nice to be able to hunker down behind that curtain outof the wind on runs across the lake.

I really like my T-top it adds a lot of great storage especially storing rods that your not using up out of your way. Casting especially at night you have to be aware it is there. Mine fits fine in a normal lift but could see a problem if the water was in a flood stage. R22 is right on with the wind it can present challenges on its own.

As of now I do not have a lift. I just take my boat out when I leave for the week and drop it in when I get to the lake. I have a ramp at my place so it's easy in and out.

Does anyone have experience with a fish master T top. I was originally looking at the styker but to get the styker that's fold down is it least $500 more expensive then the Fish master and I believe the Fish Masters top may be a little bit bigger as well to provide more coverage

I love my ttop as well. It's nice to be able to get extra rods or net up out the way. It allows for overhead lighting which is nice. You can put a windshield on it which is great in rain and cool weather. So many more advantages than disadvantages.

My wife still thinks the SF on my boat stands for ski and fish...not sport fish. Repeat after me.. "The purpose of a center console is to allow young children the ability to move around more easily"

Just as a note when you first go out with the new T-top. Remember your rods and anything you may have up in the rod holders up top when going under 122 and Hardy Road bridges!!!
