Had a good day fishing with my son today, the first time we have got on any fish in SM lake WT was 57 and the wind blew a little, but not to bad, we only caught 2 one 29 and the other 27, both caught on shiners that we brought with us from Winston, we havent figured out where to catch bait yet but we will. we have to find a ramp to put in at closer up river, we put in at the bridge on 122 it cost 15 bucks thats a little steep, any help on this would be appreciated. i would put my pictures on here but i dont see a link to do it.

Congrats on the 1st fish... those are always the hardest. I assume you're talking about the ramp that is at the blue building in the back of waterwheel creek. There is a public ramp on the other side of that creek - though coming from NC you have to drive on about another 10 min to get to it. However, there is a new (as of this spring) public ramp on the Franklin Cty side that is just 5 boat ride from the bridge that's free - you turn at the white church on 122 onto 666, near Bojangles - and then work your way in.... As to pics... can't direct attach, but you can upload to something like Photobucket and link the pics... smlfishingforums.proboards.com/thread/37/posting-pics

Yea I was out Friday from 9am-11am and called it a day. The wind was howling and you couldn't escape it. The new boat ramp is nice and FREE!
