Hey guys just wanted to post a report and few pics from my recent trip so lake gaston. Really didn't know where to fish because I haven't been on the water since Thanksgiving. And I had my sister along on our first trip so I really wanted to get on some fish. Caught bait easily before daylight at my usual spot at least 6 dozen ales and several nice mongos. So we started out fishing using downlines, planners and , free lines. We had been fishing 10 minutes and my sister caught her first striper that weighed 12 pounds and was 27 inches long! And then she proceeded to catch a another striper on a mongo that was 29 inches and weighed 15 pounds! Needless to say she is hooked. We ended up with four nice stripers for the day. Not a bad trip and this was my first trip using the new supertank. I'm loving that tank, it worked flawlessly! I'm trying to figure out how to post the pics from photo bucket to here? I'm sure mward can shed some light on this??? Thanks!

Larry, nice going I fish Buggs a lot and usually catch my bait on Gaston. Those are some good ones from there. I think i'll be heading up the river on Gaston friday. I picked up a 35 gal sbt 6 months ago. We've been able to keep 120-140 bluebacks in it for two days straight.

Steviejay I've been hearing reports of some really nice fish being caught on the lower end of gaston here in the last week or two. But they have to be generating. Just an FYI!

Yeah we know all about the generation schedule. I have Kerr and gaston's numbers saved in my phone. Also have found sometimes they say they wont be generating when they actually are. Last time we went up in April had outboard trouble. Hopefully they'll be pulling some water for us. Let you know if we do anything if your interested.

Yeah Stevie definitely let me know what y'all do. Where do y'all usually put in at to fish the river at gaston? Bigun we have a few of them far fishermen round these parts too. Ha ha. What was weird was some of those fish were still spawning?

We usually put in at holly grove to catch bait then either ride up or launch at steel bridge. I think a lot of fish hang out in the river year round. There is an old tagging study that proved this. A guy from my hometown caught a 21lber last year. We've only caught 6-12lb fish though.
