Ok, I know that we have some GoPro fans on the forum. Need to ask which one or two you would go with. Check out the pic and let me know which model and if it is a good deal. Thanks folks.

That's a screaming deal - where? Almost too good of a deal..... Ahh - remember you have a hook-up in the electronics biz, don't you.... If those prices are legit - go Black. It can record at the highest res AND take still image pics at the same time which can be cool. I'd probably look at the Silver at the normal prices. Just remember you have to also buy a memory card seperately.

You will be happy with the black. I have the black and silver. great cameras. On a note I tend to stop the camera after i have landed a fish and released it. that way you are not spending a bunch of time trying to find where in the clips your fish catchs are. Makes editing a lot easier. Oh and nice price, your price just beat mine out but a hair.

What's biggest difference between black and silver? The Black version comes with the WiFi remote that lets you control one or more WiFi enabled cameras - though you can also do that via an iPhone app (and Android?) The Black can do 4K@30fps video (as well as 1080p@60fps and other modes) while the silver maxes out at 1080p@60fps. The Black can do 12 MP stills where the 10 maxes at 10. Looks like the Black as a "super wide view" mode that the Silver does not, and I believe I remember reading that the Black can do still captures while recording video that the silver cannot - but that perhaps was with the previous non-"+" versions and maybe they both can do that now - not sure.

They also have the white version that offers less features than the silver but still capable of quality video and stills at a much more affordable price. From what I have read the higher the res setting the quicker you are going to deplete the battery. A lot to learn with this new toy.
I'd like to mount it on a telescopic pole and watch the fish from under the water as it is being brought in. lots of ideas but we will see.

But all you would need to do if you are going to do it hand held is go get a cheap mono pod from walmart for $15 and get the gopro tripod mount. For my kayak i am actually mounting it so i have to modify the mono pod.
