They are supposed to be building a new ramp down from Hales Ford Bridge, near the Coast Guard auxiliary. Has the construction started yet? If so, when is the completion date scheduled? Thanks

Had not started the last time I was at the station which was in December. Figure it will be spring now before they do anything or as long as APCO can put it off like they are doing about the markers on the lake.

Saw an article in the Laker Weekly that the expected opening date is mid-November now due to delay they ran into with unexpected rock..... you know, a surprise when you're building on mountains

The people who designed it will probably never use it so they designed it for aesthetics not functionality. Probably the same genuis who took up 1/4 the parking at the halesford bridge ramp for a giant outhouse.

My thoughts too, luckly I will just take the trailer down and drop the boat and bring it around to the station and won't have to walk up the hill. Heck just to go to the bathroom you have to walk to the top of the hill. But it sure will be handy to put boats in and take them out. I just noticed the dock, are they making a fishing pier? And I wonder if they are going to put a dock at the ramp, right now there isn't one at the ramp location. Interesting.

I believe that is a fishing pier - I've been wondering where floaters are at least a fixed pier at the ramp for solo launches.

Maybe they will have Valet Parking. Tips are current fishing hotspots.

Just wondering....How do they pour concrete in the water? Will it harden under the water?

Guessing you will be able to have two boats at the same time like Penhook and Hardy, with a dock in the middle. They drive the metal that locks together and then pump it out and pour the ramp and then pull them out, use a crane with a vibrator on it, neet to watch. Would like to have a little more turn around room to pull in to and then back up, with a 32' trailer and a big SUV it may be interesting.
