Haven't posted up a report in awhile - haven't fished in a long time either though. Been a busy summer for me - got married back in June, went on a honeymoon in July, and we close on our first house next month (which is 30min closer to the lake than I have been the past couple years so watch out)! Managed to slide out with Mward Sunday morning for a few hours. I got bait that morning before light and it's a one n done deal nowadays - clearly we're dealing with a smaller striper population bc the bait is outrageous. Knew before we left the dock, I was going to my August honeyhole. We got down there and the best guide on the lake was there, so I figured I wasn't too far off. Lots of scattered fish coming off the bottom that wouldn't eat for the first 30-45min, then the fish grouped up and went big hammer for 5-10min then they scattered back out into small groups and would feed sporadically. We fished that spot til about 9 or so and headed on home. Water was about 85 I believe.

BentRod - wow, you look worn, puzzled, and ragged. And perhaps confused as to what you are holding. And if I may - I would add slightly anxious and awaiting "direction" on what you should do next.

I think the thought bubble over Bentrod reads "Does Mward know he is about to run over the planer boards again while he is fiddling with that camera? "

This is kind of a duh-huh statement but I had that same thought for a long time...until I crossed a decent school of fish. The I realized it was the fisherman not the fish finder lol. Schools like that are hard to find for some of us - myself included.

I know its unrelated to your report, but do yall got any tips on settings i should try next time? The secret to magical settings is to put your boat above a school of fish. The only electronics I have ever used who will do this for you have wings and scream "Caaaawwwww." Most every great screen shot I have of major schools either come from birds or from trolling around in areas where I believe the fish to be. When you are on em, it is actually really hard to screw up your settings enough not to see them. But I know for a fact that my time being on em has been reduced trying to find the perfect settings that never existed in the first place.
