Id be up for it "hopefully". Just a simple tournament. Pay ya money and fish. However you wanna target em. If that dont suit ya, dont fish it.

Yeah this would be a single class live bait and/or artificial tournament - whatever suites your style. I'm also considering an April tournament if this fall one doesn't pan out, which would benefit the night fisherman - although night fishing is not bad in October either.

I know that many of the forum participants subscribe to catch and release and that is great. I would think you would get more participation if there was a tournament weigh in. My experience in offshore tournaments in Florida was not too good when it was a c&r vs. a actual weigh in. Not my call though.

Yeah it would definitely be more exciting with a weigh in, but why kill a bunch of fish if we don't have to? You'd certainly be free to keep yours within the limits of the law - we just won't be having a weigh in. Also, if it's in November or April, then the slot is still in play which would make it a challenging tournament for catch n kill - the reality is you'll probably see a lot of 25" fish and maybe one or two over 36". Catch, photo, n release would allow any fish to count. We'll just get Mward to put up a big video screen with all the pictures displayed to create some buzz - what are friends with money for anyways?!

I would be very interested, no divisions, it is what it is, best two fish total measurement is the winner. Entry fee a little high( I am on fixed income, MAYBE SS) How about $25.00 a boat and all aboard would be winners?

I agree with Shad--simple tournament, fun to fish in. Sounds like a go for me.

If anyone has a boat and needed a partner I would be interested (would pay for gas, beer or hookers) or if anyone who is Kayaking wants company I would bring down my Kayak and paddle with you.

An open tournament sounds good to me. No divisions, just best two measured per boat. Entry fee a little more than want to pay , what about $25.00 fee and a bigger big fish pool?

fishing tournaments are like golf tournaments...rules and format really don't matter, its just a great excuse to take a day off and do something fun with others looking to do the same.

Any more thoughts on this? It would be fun and a good chance to meet some folks.
