Coming for first time in May, wondering what is going on with the bass aroung then in next few weeks. staying near Blackwater area. I been reading that using Green Pumkin plastics, spinnerbaits, and swimbaits are great. Any creeks better than others. Not looking for exact holes from guys just a general idea. Thanks in advance.

Far from an expert but do fish sml once a year every may......usually craddock creek. Have had luck with shakey head rigged green pumpkin worms and white spinner baits (1/4 and 3/8oz). I usually stick to fishing docks and shoreline with downed trees. Have also been told senkos are great for the docks this time of year. Go back and find some posts from may of last year on the site. Should be able to drum up some good info. Good luck

Early May there will still be a lot of spawning fish and some postspawn, late may there will be mostly postspawn fish. As mentioned before, shaky heads and senkos around docks is the most popular and productive pattern for this time of year. I wouldn't say any creek is better than the other, but the fishing might be easier if you stay out of the super clear water downlake.

Last year in early may we had success fishing Senkos wacky style around docks that were in 15-20 ft of water.
We will be coming down and fishing this year 5/11-5/18. Really looking forward to it.
