Water temp 65 degrees and hardly any wind Air temp 57 degrees and cloudy to partly cloudy
Launched at Moormans around 6:30am and struggled to get bait. Lost one cast net on some structure(which taught me a hard lesson to have a spare for next time). After an hour getting a new net we set out again and slowly found bait in the back of Beaverdam Creek. Fished planars on the way out and didn't mark a thing. Had 2 hits on the main river points, but otherwise the day was just bad from the start. We headed out around 1pm, but marked a school of bait being busted by what I would assume was striper on the fish-finder in the channel out from Moorman's just after we had dumped bait for the day. This was my third trip to the lake so I'm not really sure where the striper have moved. My guess is the bait have moved out to the main lake points and the striper have since followed? Thinking about going back again in a week. Should I put in at Hales launch and fish main points next time or is it all about the nite bite this late in the season?
Thanks for any info!

Believe you just had some bad luck. The fish haven't really moved much, but they are positioning themselves to. I started seeing some bigger schools this weekend near the mouths of creeks. I think this week they'll be on the move. With that full moon last week, it seemed to be a midday afternoon bite from what I could gather in my short weekend trips.
Definitely in a week or two, you'll probably wanna fish the lower end, Craddock and dam. They're already there in good numbers but not in massive numbers yet.

I might check out Craddock next time. What is the closest launch?

Saunders marina probably. I don't know about bait down that way. If you get there early enough, you may be able to find a light on. I've never gotten bait down there.
