I have a question i have read reports on the moon phase and fishing. I will be going down sml on the May 18th until 25th there will be a full moon on the 25th my question does that affect the night time bite for stripers i do not get enough time on the water to really gauge this. When i get i chance to get on the water i take it. I was just wandering what some of you guys thought about this.

I've always heard that the darker the night the better for spring-time night fishing - but like you said - fish when you can fish......

I've always heard that the darker the night the better for spring-time night fishing...... Just speaking from my experiences on night fishing SML over the years and I don't do a whole lot of night fishing any more. I have caught some fish on the brite nights but the darker nights were always much better. I try not to get caught up in the moon phase thing and I won't let it knock me out of going fishing, but there is something to it. Also, 2 days before or after the new moon always "seems" better for bigger fish. Just my .02 cents.

Nothing beats time on the water i know the moon has a effect on a lot of things i was just wondering what some of you thought. Thanks for the feed back if i can help anyone i will. Fished last Sunday until Tuesday at Big Indian creek caught 20 stripers one 37 1/2 half a fat healthy fish not one parisite in its mouth but him back in the lake for another day i hope this lake makes a comeback when a fish like that was no big deal. I will post some pics caught some on a fluke to that one hit live bait free lining.
