Anyone have any info on the night bite. Coming down to fish Friday and Saturday nights and was just wondering if anyone has been out and if they have heard any "pops" yet.

Went out Sat evening on the lower Blackwater - no alewives spawning yet - at least not between 8 & 10 - probably should have fished longer as the wind did not die down till about 9:15.....

I stopped by the public ramp below Hales Ford Bridge Friday night on the way home from work. I was wondering the same thing. It was about 11:45pm. Alewives were flipping around there. Hung around about 10 minutes and did hear a couple of "pops." Have not been able to go fishing yet but can't wait.

Want to try my new Smack Jack lure. I got a couple for my birthday recently - they do swim VERY pretty..... just tie on some heavy braid that won't break off and make you cry ;D

Thanks for the advice. I will cry if one breaks off. $25.00 a pop aint easy to live with.

Just kidding - sort of - about the heavy braid - Dont know how it would affect casting - but yeah, breaking one off on a big fish would be double heart-breaking.
