Launched yesterday at 7:00 a.m., I thought after Friday nights rain the water would be muddy but the color and speed were good. First cast and second turn of the reel handle put a fish in the boat. Fished from 7-3:00, boated 28. All fish ranged from 21-24 inches. The wind just about blew us off the water several times.

Its a lot of spots you can fish off the bank in brookneal. its a few spots down from the boat ramp. But if I was you I would go up in the rocks. just park under the bridge and its a road there walk that road it will lead u to the water gauge. You will see a few trails going down through the woods just pick one. And if seen boats small as bath tubs in there. If u have a real small boat with a small HP motor I would avoid going up from brookneal boat ramp. its a good place to catch fish but also a good place to knock the lower unit off your boat. Just message me for more info. I was born and raised on that river.
