I went out last night in the S-turns. Tried three points. Found the stripers on the third point which was out in the main channel. Good action from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Had 3 - 4 hits and lost them all before landing two stripers. I was using an F-18. There were no indications of stripers where I was catching them last night, other than the hits and catches. In other words, no big splashes or anything like that to lead me in. No moon last night. A little windy, but not bad. Very pleasant air temp. Water temp in main channel 51 degrees. Water temp in Walton's Creek 53 degrees.

Nice report. I think I am going to try some artificial this year. I heard the F-18 was a good one to try.

It is great to hear the night bite is on. I have fished nites with thundersticks when shad are spawning. But what tactics are working now? What lures are y'all using and how are you fishing them? If I get a chance to go I will post a report.

The thunderstick and F18 bite is much better when the shad are spawning. Right now I'm having better luck hoping a fluke on a 1/4 oz. jig head back to the boat. Use what ever bait you have the most confidence in.... DON'T use a jig head with a CHEAP wire hook, you will get your feelings hurt a few times. That said, Captains Quarters has some good ones with GamaKatzu hooks. ;D Mward, where the heck were you and BentRod?? I looked all weekend for you 2........and you 2 can have your mongo gizzards, I pulled them on the bank side till their scales wore off. ( could have been from banging them into all the logs, sticks and crap in the water.) ;D I decided to fish a long forgotten hot spot just above beaver this weekend.......thank goodness for alewives and 1/4oz. weights on the other side of the boat. lol!!! ;D

Mward, where the heck were you and BentRod?? I looked all weekend for you 2........ I was in the basement all weekend painting except for Sat from 4:30-8pm and then on Sunday for a few hours when I took the family on the boat to eat lunch at Jakes and then play a little putt-putt..... Don't knock those mongos.... they deliver! Nice when I can put the hooks I bought for the Bay to use on SML

I threw back about 30, 12" to 16" mongos sunday when I was leaving. ;D.......on purpose......cause I knew you would have wanted them. ;D I try to stay away from crowds too, that's why I ended up above beaver on the main lake.....You bout had to take a number and wait to get into the first creek above me (and the first one on the left.).....sad to say, weekends are brutal and will only get worse from here on in.

Nice stripersplash. How was the summer-time fishing? Looking forward to getting out some this weekend.
