Question for yaw -
I have someone who is looking for an annual lease on an RV / fifth-wheel type campsite. He would prefer mid to upper end, which for him I would describe as ranging from maybe Grimes Creek or so down to top of S Curves. In that span I know of Hannabass, and Halesford Harbour (Camper's). There are probably others, but I don't know them. Anybody have any other suggestions?
On down I know there are sites at Eagle Roost, Mitchell's Point, and Arrowhead but I don't think he's going to want to go that far down.
Thanks for any help

I know a place above Indian but below Grimes - has a nice new double dock and a newly remodeled restaurant and bathhouse (when the owners are up from SC).

The ones you listed are the only ones that I know of if you want to call them camping. There is a member or two on here that have campers at those maybee they will chime in on their thoughts of their sites. I know there is no way I would spend the money on a permanite site on the lake. They just arent much like camping to me. They pack them in and I dont think Hales ford harbor allows campfires, now what is camping without a fire

I have a site at Halesford Harbour. We can have fires you just have to have them in a fire pit with a spark cover/screen on it.
It is not like the primitive camping I did when I was young and would hike five miles in and five miles out. I'd rather go fishing than walk all weekend.
It is more like a resort than a campground and I chose this over a condo because I like the social aspect of the camper community over what is at most of the condo's.
Also having a camper makes you enjoy your house when you get home.
I also get to ride around in my golf cart and not get a DUI.
I don't spend my weekends cutting grass and doing yard work....just playing on the lake and hanging out with friends. I have to go to work to recoup from the weekend.
The biggest advantage to the camper on the lake is: If I am unfortunate enough to loose my job or become disabled the camper is paid for and I can haul it home or sell it and just do not have to renew my lease. I will not be stuck with a piece of property that I may not be able to sell forcing me to claim bankruptcy.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I told this friend I would run him around to a few of the places in a couple weeks, and maybe mix in some fishing.

Do any of ya'll remember Whip O Will campground (careful, you will tell your age). That's where I stayed on my first trip to Smith Mt. I had just got my learners and my dad let a friend (16 with a license) and I take a old international pickup up there. My dad didn't know the driver with me had to be 18. We carried a 14ft jon boat in the back with a 5hp Ted Williams motor. The internal gas tank had crud in it so every once in a while you would have to pull the carb and clean it out. We had to do this on the way around to the damn and on the way back. Trust me, it's a long ride in that rig. It was March, we did catch one striper that weekend down by the dam. Mitchells hadn't officially opened but he did let us buy some sardines ( I haven't ate one since), we lived on those all weekend. The best part of the trip for me was the hot shower in the bath house, it was flipping freezing on the water and in that little pup tent! Good Memories! ;D

Leeb thats some good info, I was told by a coworker who's dad has a site there that they couldnt have fires. I love camping and get our camper out when ever we can, which unfortanitly cuts down on my SML time

Sounds like a pretty long time ago Bigjon, you sure it was a lake back then? The dam you're remembering might of just been a real big rock in the middle of the river. ;D

Bigjon, you are confused. Social Security is for the elderly. besides I'm not going to retire until ole big ed does. I am a little worried though.....told big ed that we were going to one of those places he likes to go to.....first time in my life he didn't show up to go with me. Yeah, I remember whip-o-will camp ground. Thinking back, now I know who those 2 snot nosed kids were that was ALWAYS raising cane. ....but who was the older kid that was always following after you and your buddy .....best I can remember, he must have had a fetish for leaves cause he had a hanfull in each hand. ;D

Bigun, I'm not sure who the other kid was but I was not quite 16, it could have been Leo's youngest son!
