This morning was my first trip to SML in many years. Put in at the motel in Indian Creek and the plan was to catch shad but that didn't work out. So I moved out into the river just outside Indian creek and marked stripers around the trees. I didn't realize there are some many trees until I got hung trolling U-rigs. Saw alot of fish at 40+, but the few times I saw 1 or 2 around 25" to 30", they would bite. Ended up with 3 nice stripers (released) all hitting U-rigs with 4inch chartreuse sassy shads. Still somewhat learning to the tricks to catching stripers, but pleased with the day. Awesome Lake!!
