For these methods i do not worry much about the main line. I use hi vis green Trilene 25# mono. The line from the swivel or weight is key. If I’m fishing down lines, I like 16-20 lb Stren Magna Thin mono, also use 20-25 lb Trilene floro. The Trilene works well for weightless freelines as well as boards.

Your 20# mono is solid for down lines and boards, but if you want to upgrade, 25# mono might give you a bit more strength, especially for bigger fish or tougher spots. For the leader, try 20-25 lb fluorocarbon......it's less visible and tougher around structure. You could also go with braid for better sensitivity, paired with a fluoro leader. Just a few thoughts to consider!
