Minn Kota Ulterra

Hey guys,

I know there has been some discussion around the Ulterra in the past but anything new would be helpful. I need a new trolling motor and the stow and deploy feature with the Ulterra would be very helpful for me. My age and my back can use the help. Can anyone provide some insight on the dependability of the Ulterra? To my knowledge this is the only trolling motor that offers this feature. Thanks.

I’ve had a 112 Ulterra for over a year now and I’ve not had any problems with it other than I had a loose wire and it lost connection and it’s memory of where it was turned for stowing. It was an easy fix on the water with a simple YouTube video. I have noticed it is getting louder when turning to the right, but it is still quiet as a mouse turning to the left. I love the auto stow/deploy feature as I fish from the back of the boat most of the time. Also, the 112 has a ton of power.

My Ulterra has been great! 2 years and still running strong. Definitely make sure to keep an eye on the belt tension and have a Phillips screwdriver in the boat just in case there’s a stow/deploy problem. Only happened to me once because the belt was too loose
