I'm not sure where to put this question on the forums so sorry if its in the wrong place. I was just wondering what the best website to go to to get your boaters license and how much it will cost me. I should have had it last year but never used my boat due to motor problems, but its fixed and ready to go now. Thanks for any help.

I used one of the on-line courses that was VA approved - dont recall which one but they all should be pretty much the same. Just make sure they have a VA specific course. Once you pass it is recommend sending on the $10 or whatever to VA for the permanent boaters card - will hold up better than dragging a piece of paper around. This one is free to take and print your certificate - or $5 to have them mail you one (then the extra from VA for the plastic card). www.boatus.org/onlinecourse/virginia.asp |

If you are wiling to set thru the class it's free, you can go to the DGIF website and find a class. On weekdays its two nights or a Saturday
