I had a boys day with my son Saturday. After we had some pizza and arcade time at Bridgewater, we snuck out on the pond for a little bit to chase mongo gizzards for the home tank. I couldn’t find any large shad in numbers inside of a 40ft bottom depth. There was a lot of threadfin shad in the top 10ft of the water column of the stained creek water - trying to survive I guess. I broke out the 12fter and gave it a go in 40-60ft of water - brought up a few in the time we had, but not as many as I would have liked. I will be back very soon for a lot more. We didn’t actually fish any but will be back soon for that as well. The water temperature is well ahead of last year - the spring striper bite should be about ready to explode if it already hasn’t.
