2/11, crappie report

Wasn’t able to fish the SML crappie tournament Saturday but did go out for a little while. Fished upper blackwater. Found fish schooled up near brush not really on it. Able to boat 17, one of which was 15.25”, first citation of the year and another that was pushing 14”. Kept 12 between 10 & 12” for the frying pan. The big ones went back plus 3 smalls. Bobby Garland baby shad in blue ice was the ticket. Fish were suspended 5-8’ in 25’ of water. Water temp around 46 I think 🤔 fished from 10 am till 1230 pm.

Made it to the weigh in for the crappie tournament, they had 11 boats in it and biggest bag was 9lb 4 ounces if I remember correctly.

You might woulda been in the money with those fish.

We fished the Roanoke side and may as well have been fishing on mars. Our fish weren’t on like that.
