Umbrella rigs

So from what I’ve seen on here, umbrella rigs don’t seem to be that popular at SML.  They are however popular in NC lakes, what’s the difference?  Is the main reason the trees at 20’?  What’s yalls opinions?

I would say two reasons. The first is definitely the trees. Not all of them got cut 20’ below full pool. The second would be that,right now anyway, the vast majority of the fish are 50’ deep or deeper.
