Well I finally broke down and did it……. I joined Facebook!!! This site is just dead, I’m guessing everyone went to Facebook to talk fishing. I joined the SML striper group and many others, wow!! Tons of people talking fishing on these groups.
So guess I’ll see some of y’all on Facebook now.

Facebook has definitely done in the classic forums. Unfortunately it does not really replicate it as search is a pain and no organization of topics but it is what it is

I don’t see a lot on there either, I have been the last three weekends but skunked each trip missed four last Friday! I am going to set deer camp up this weekend, try something different if I can get the smell out of my clothes?

Lol, y’all making me feel bad for my decision, but for now it’s pretty cool. Have reconnected with some old high school buddies that I haven’t seen in 20 years, plus I don’t have to bug my wife all the time to look at her phone so I can see star city white tails.

Lol, y’all making me feel bad for my decision, but for now it’s pretty cool. Don't feel bad at all, I'm on FB too, have been for years. FB and this site, along with other sites like this one, each have their own unique characteristics. FB has lots of different groups (fishing related), where you can see information from all over which include many different waterways. On this site you get more detailed, mostly localized information on SML, and it's also easier to go back and find something that was previously posted. Each has it's place, and there's no reason both can't be utilized to help enhance your fishing pleasure and success.

I like the FB more for Virginia Crappie and star city white tails. This site is great for those that striper fish with live bait, wished there was more content on crappie, catfish, and LMB. Seems like only me and johnr are the only guys that fish for anything but stripers.

I left Facebook over a year ago to avoid data breeches. I'd rather come to a dead site than give them folks another chance to make money off of marketing me.

I feel like the FB fishing groups are good for sharing pictures of catches, trip reports, etc. But I like the forum format better for collecting and organizing information. Both certainly have their place and I still find value in hanging around here. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to support suckerburg. If I didn't need to be on facebook to promote music I would've deleted it a long time ago.
