Had to try it out Wt 80 to 82 Cloudy over cast and cool morning Caught some bait above the bridge but was tough and only had maybe a dozen that was decent and a pile of 2.5 inch bait. Started looking for fish at sunrise searched all the way down to the dark side never really marked much so just decided to put baits out and pull right above the tree line on main channel. I seen a few lookers coming up here and there through that stretch and seen one boat on anchor reel one in, started working our way in towards land a little closer and marked three small schools and caught one dink to keep the skunk away! This weather is great and making me want to fish a little. Traffic got too bad for me so left around 1030! This was more of a scouting trip the son in law is coming in next weekend ready to fish he has missed the last year of fishing building a barn trying to get ready for the wedding so I’m thinking of moving down just a little further and trying again this weekend! Seen plenty of people out pulling baits so someone is out striper fishing! Good luck to everyone

Thanks for details. The WTs have dropped more than I expected. How was the clarity? Curious if the recent rains have affected water conditions.

The water should be good clarity-wise.
The mid-upper blackwater river (actual river) is still running clear and normal levels. We’ve had a little bit of localized muddy flows in the last month, but not high flows which is what pushes the mud deep into the lake.

31 the water was really clear everywhere I fished and thermocline was set up the higher I was on the lake.
