Night 6/2

Fished 20:00 to 1:30 last night. I’m afraid we are entering what is a lull for me between night fishing and jigging season. Bait was plentiful but busting fish were not. Was partnering with another boat that had a seasoned fisherman in it. We got 2, the other boat skunked. Water temperature is above 80 now and the fish are pulling away from the banks. I noticed last night, and even on the last couple trips that the fish are taking some effort and coaxing to get a good release. Things are definitely moving to summer patterns.

Choo I was up there this week and caught a few also ?? I got for you is I got broke off serval times when I caught one in little deeper water say around booies or light not on bank !! I had 20# pro braid !! Happened maybe 5 times this week !! I use a Doulble uni knot !!drag set firm hard to pull off !! Countnn fig it out any tips !! Thanks And God Bless

I guess I would have a few questions. What pound leader are you using? Where does the break seem to be happening? Personally, I throw plugs with mono or fluoro without a leader. When I jig with a leader I tie a uni with 8 twists on the braid and 5 or 6 on the fluoro. On any knot make sure to have no unnecessary twists as these will severely compromise the knot. My terminal knot is always a Jimmy Houston. I pull split rings before I break off.

Choo Not running leader tieing plug right to 20# Pro Braid with a doulble uni knot I think rap 6 times throw hole and back through loop !!
