Memorial Day weekend report 2022

Fished with my little man Sat and Sun mornings for about an hour or so. I was able to net enough bait off our dock light each night - getting some nice ales/bluebacks as well as some big Shad mixed in. We didn’t stray far from the house each morning and picked up some decent fish. Saturday everything came on alewives with 1/4-1oz weighted lines - caught 5 I think up to 37”. Sunday we lost a good one early on a big shad about mid-fight and then we picked up 3-4 more on alewives with weighted lines - biggest was probably 28-29”.

Stripers are scattered mid-lake but catchable and still spread throughout the water column. Water temps were 71-76ish - didn’t notice any issues releasing fish at this point.

Very nice, Tyler. What a great looking family along with a few good fish. You are going to spoil him if you keep catching those mid-30's in an hour.

Nice going there getting the kid on some fish! You are definitely brave going out there this weekend I think I am done until fall got my oldest getting married in three weeks time sure seems to go by quickly anymore take them kids fishing as much as you can it doesn’t last as long as you think!
