Anyone chasing slabs around right now? We are coming down this weekend to mainly go after some stripers, but usually try to catch a couple crappie for a meal. Looks like its gonna be cold this weekend. Any tips on patterns, techniques (trolling, tightlining, brushpiles, etc) would be appreciated. Not looking for exact spots.

we caught a 2 citations in the cast net in one throw 2 weeks ago. They were still hanging out in the same spot last weekend when I went through that area. They were in the middle of the cove in about 15' of water. Caught even more last weekend under lights in the same depth right after dark in the cast net as well. Talked to a couple of guys out looking for them last weekend when I was looking for bait. They were trolling minnows and jigs. Ive thought about carrying a couple of ulta lights on the boat to target them on slow days.

Any particular color cast net working better than others? ;D ;D I plan to throw some of the crappie gear in the truck for that exact reason. Its looking like some cold it hitting the area down there, so trolling jigs and minnies might be a good strategy if they pull back some.....

Caught a nice slab trolling on down line for stripers 25' deep. We were two bends out from Jake's.

i would love to find the crappie in this lake, i've hooked one in there ever and it was over 20 inches. water was low and i didnt have the net on the dock. she was just laying on top of the water worn out from the couple runs she took me on. i laid on the dock, grabbed my line to pull it up to lipping distance and the hook bent and i lost it

we ended up just fishing for stripers, as the warm afternoons eluded us. Crazy weather!! We did catch a few in the cast net though. Seemed to be out in the 15-17 foot range on structure. (snagged net for a little bit) Going to try Kerr in a couple weeks, me thinks.....but we sure had fun with the stripers down there.
