We fished friday afternoon and saturday morning.
Bait was not easy. Everything was either really big gizzards or not big enough threadfins. Fished gills creek and gave bull run a shot with no love at all.
Did not mark or find hardly any bait up blackwater which is our usual haunt.
Fishing was a dud. Marked fished friday but couldnt buy a bite - think the big baits didnt help. Saturday hard to even find fish.
I caught more threadfins in my net than ever. seems like they are really taking off. Do any of you guys know if wildlife studies the bait populations? the gizzards and alewives seem to be really down.

The bait population dynamics were covered in detail by the biologist at Friday night’s striper club meeting. Look on the club’s Facebook page and you may find a video of the meeting.

Windy as crazy round here and it was my last weekend off till the end of the month still nice to be out on the water! Supposed to be really cold this weekend so if you are going out be careful, I wait till later on so I can throw a net and not worry about floor freezing up! Good luck if you are going out there
