AT 35-45 WT 46 Good visibility- a few feet Cloudy on the edge of the rain Water was slick as glass
Launched on the Roanoke side at sunrise and headed upstream. Didn’t take long before I found the birds and the fish were there too. Got 3 quick, all 32-35”, then spent an hour chasing singles and small groups with livescope. Watched a lot of fish chase and slap my jig, but only a couple more ate it.
Headed downstream at 10 and hit a creek below the bridge. Stood on the TM and threw an A-Rig shallow parallel to the bank. Got to watch fish following and eating it in under 15’ of water. I set the range to 110’ and cast to anything that was up off the bottom. Stripers and largemouth.
Slid off into 35’ and sat in fish that were stacked on a ridge. Fooled with them for an hour with no bites. Tried almost everything. They’d chase but not eat.

Nice day right there John, I had heard of a school being in that area but we had fished up there two weeks ago only had huge bait and nothing wanted to play so we headed down the lake yesterday. Only marked singles here and there but got a few to play.

Something I noticed today was that all the fish I caught were on or near the bottom. From 10-40’ deep. The fish that I marked out in the open water were not interested.
The fish on the bottom were clearly much more active than open water fish. Seemed like they were just cruising around on the areas I found them.
