Hi all,
I'm relatively new to Roanoke and looking to get out and some fishing. I moved here from Houston so most of my experience has been in salt water fishing. I have done a little bit of kayak fishing on the New River but haven't had a chance to get out there much. I would love to find someone who wouldn't mind showing me the ropes with fresh water fishing in the area. If anyone is looking for a fishing buddy then I am almost always down to go on my days off. I'm a male in my mid 30s and work as an engineer and stock trader.

welcome aboard, Andrew! you've landed in a nice piece of freshwater fishing heaven. lotsa places to put that 'yak in - the upper James, upper Rappahannock, Notaway, Sandy Rivers; SML, Kerr, Philpott, Claytor Lakes; plus all of the smaller, all-electric or no big motor lakes and ponds. recommend spending some time reading thru some of the reports on the species you plan to target. tons of useful, informative info on this site. the doods on this site are pretty helpful. look forward to reading the reports on your trips. Ol' Airborne barely remembers his mid-30s and hardly ever works.
