Historically I’ve had good success fishing white perch in late winter. When the water gets below the 50s, they tend to settle into soft bottom basins near the backs of creeks. 20-50’ deep.
A variety of methods will work. Spoons, jigged flukes, jig n fly, live and cut alewives, ice jigs, etc.
Just like in summer when they school up, hundred fish days are possible. Usually they don’t turn on until mid morning, but once you find them and get them active it’s great fishing.
