Put in around 10 am. Looked around for shad but no luck. Luckily we brought decent sized golden shiners with us so as not to spend all our time bait hunting. First trip there in a few years. Not knowing what to expect, we headed down ‘till we saw five or so boats gathered off of Mormons. Spent a couple hours there but no luck. Appeared to be about the same for the other anglers.
No signs of bait anywhere. Headed back up and fished some up above the bridge. No go up there either until just as we were about to leave we caught one. My PB for SML just at 25 lb. Only got one in about 5 1/2 hr, but it was a nice one.
Best part was I got to share the day with my son.
