Hadn’t posted in a while but also haven’t fished in awhile. Fished the Mafia tourney this past weekend. Found bait easily in a BW creek. Bait was 8-10” long and in very shallow water. Had a hard time finding much smaller bait for Downlines. Anything smaller was too small (peanuts). Pre fished Friday on the Roanoke side putting in at Hardy and fished down around the trestles for awhile then moved way up in the river. Never had a bite all morning. At 2pm I ventured way up the BW hit a couple creeks pulling boards and ended the day without a bite but did find a few fish via sonar and intel. Started out Saturday morning lower BW then moved towards the keys. My son Wyatt Picked up a 21 1/2” bass that won the big bass pot. Made a move to craddock with no luck there either. Made a move from there to a BW creek where we picked up our first Striper of the weekend
31 1/2” and was enough for Wyatt to get first in the youth division. Picked up another bass that was 22 1/2” but our token card blew out of the boat and sunk. Never picked up a 2nd striper. The one was enough to place use 17th out of 42. Fished Sunday morning in the same creek and never got a bite. Fishing was very slow for this time of year.
