I finally was able to get on the water yesterday. I set my alarm for 2am so that I could arrive before the sun rose. And as usual, I was on the water before my alarm went off. It was a beautiful morning - a nice chill in the air, and the bait was everywhere. I resigned myself to being happy with 10 inch bait. It took awhile to find my bait but I was successful. I started fishing with a nice tank of 10 inchers and several really nice ales.
The morning started off really active. I had several pull backs, swirls and pops in the first 20 minutes. I remember thinking, "I hope it isn't going to be this easy!" Well, my wish came true. After the first 20 minutes, I never saw another sniff. By 5 pm I was off the water. It was too hot for my liking.
The water temperature was around 70F and the fish I saw were hanging on the bottom in 30 FOW.
The reason I am writing this report is that the only thing I can move is my fingers. I stayed in shape all summer but there is no substitute for throwing the net. My back, upper legs, stomach and arms are all shot. I am having trouble walking down my steps. And my wife is calling me an "OLD WUSS!"
We need these 80 degree days to go away!
Happy Fishing! Yam
