I'll post on the report board, but wanted to give an update on this thread. We got some bait this morning off of the dock light, and put 3 striper in the boat by 9:00 or so. We were about halfway up Craddock with only a few boats around. Y'all have mentioned lack of bait. I have not marked more than two or 3 bait balls all weekend. Was there a major shad kill last winter? Seems like a pretty bad sign if there is really that little amount of bait around. Thanks again for all your help--- now my granddaughter gets to eat fish for dinner.  |

I’m no bait expert by no means, but I believe there is plenty of bait. Just that the hot weather has them pushed out deep, to me it seemed like plenty of bait around back in the spring, there was times when I was fishing the back of some creeks that I believe I could have walked across water on the bait.
Like I say I’m no bait expert at all, just my observation. I’m a jig junky myself, but I’m sure the hard core bait guys can tell ya more

I have the Lures for night fishing if any one wanting any , these lures do best April May June..I have the F-18-V Vampire Lure --and the WSB16aPTL Long A Bomber Prism Blue Very Hard to find and the Vampire is hard to get now.. Is February a good month to night fish with top water Lures ? I mostly fish in June

I have the Lures for night fishing if any one wanting any , these lures do best April May June..I have the F-18-V Vampire Lure --and the WSB16aPTL Long A Bomber Prism Blue Very Hard to find and the Vampire is hard to get now.. Is February a good month to night fish with top water Lures ? I mostly fish in June I remember reading a post last year of some guys doing good in December. So, I guess depends on the weather in February. This past was brutally cold. |

Month of June for me is the Hottest time to night fish,, i have some lures if i can sell on here, WSB16aPTL long A Bomber Prism Blue,, They quit making these . I do have about 15, I found ..Also I have the F-18-V know has the Vampire catch nice stripers can't find them no where at this time ... These for sale... not sure you can sell on here but it is lot of help ..bigewv@aol.com I heard catch biggest stripers in the cold months, i am going to give it a try. i do have a freezer suit for 20 below ...

Was able to get some bait so fished the mouth of Betty and Beckie's today. One small striper and two cats did not mark any fish water temps were 76 degrees...

I both a remake order of the 6 Inch Prism Blue Bombers,, If you want to see what they look like google prism blue bombers,, but you will see the 4 1/2 inch, size they don't make the 6 inch anymore, I have about 70 left out of the 315 I bought in January 11 th I have used this lure for many years, I have fished for Stripers for 27 years , best lure I have ever used if interested 740-415-7703 if I have your cell number I can send Picture of this lure !!!
