Been a member of the old site and this one for many years. Hate to see it so quite. I'll post up a report, maybe start a trend.
Water temp 82.4... bait pretty easy under dock lights, 5-6 inch ales, downlines and planner boards. Bait 36 feet behind boards, 1/4 oz. weight. Boat traffic insane. Bout 3-4 hours fishing all you could get in. Fished every day. Pretty tough fishing. Caught 2 to 3 each morning. Caught 1 really good fish, and a pig another day. Decided to try and find smaller schoolies mid week. LOTS of 20 to 22 inch fish, with a few perch mixed in, 25 feet of water, main channel. Tried my best to revive the big girl. Water to hot and fought to hard. I'm done till fall. Don't know how to post picks anymore.

Yes this time of year is tough striper fishing. To many other boats and fish dont survive well. I am waiting till it cools off and some boats go away.

I think the boat traffic this summer is at an all-time high (which means low for us). Having visited w/ a number of [obvious] new boat owners at the ramp I use at SML, it's clear that many have spent their COVID lock-in savings on new toys. None of these people thought about taking a water craft course of any kind. One dood asked me, "They [the state] really offer such a thing???" You just can't fix it, boys.
I predict many (most?) of these new rides will on the for-sale list at summer's end when the new owners realize the long term requirements for maintaining their new toys. If you're in the market for a new rec sled this may be the best year ever.

Putting the yak to use on electric only or just floating the river. 31 you thought anymore about a yak? It’s a great summertime pass time, and experience. I’d love to get up and float a trip, same goes for you JohnR/winni! I’m in the market, but not a “rec” sled. Looking for a deep v dual windshield if anybody out there has one.

Bigun - nice to see a report from you...I would do the same if Lund2 let me use my boat. Definitely looking forward to the fall. Can't help but offer a repeat comment on the 4-5" alewives....It's not the size of the pencil - it's how you sign your name.
