Hardy to Halesford

How long is the ride to Halesford from the Hardy ramp?
Looks like a long ride on the map. The pontoon isn’t a speed demon either. Anywhere to dock and eat on the Hardy side of the lake. Our place is on Penhook side so we usually put in there, but I live in Vinton and we’re just putting at Hardy for a day trip.

It’s 16-18 miles.

The last time I made that run, it took just over 45 minutes. That was in an 18' bowrider cruising about 25MPH. We put it an Halesford and ran up the river. The last few miles were interesting as the lake/river has silted in a lot from the last time I made than run. The channel was quite narrow with only about 4' of water and got shallow real quick if you got out of the channel. BTW, just for giggles and grins, I remember when the water was 40' deep under the Hardy bridge. Last trip it was 3' - 4' deep. Keep this in mind though; that was almost 14 years ago, so I'm sure the water is even shallower now.
