I dont get to SML too often, but enjoy pulling shad around and casting off the front of the boat. Over the years, Ive had really good luck with homemade bucktails, with a 6 inch curly tail, pearl white worm trailer. For some reason, I end up tossing those the most. I do throw some large Rapalas in the low light conditions, will throw a fluke as well sometimes, but seems like im reaching for those bucktails more times than not. It will usually be a 1/4 or 3/8 ounce 12 - 14 pound test. How about you more experienced veterans.....

I, too, have been tossed in that 'old fart' class.......although, next weekend, I'll be down there with my dad, an uncle (def two old farts, and my college age son, who wanted to chase stripers for his spring break. Ive been tying some live bait leaders, now im getting out the bucktail tying materials, as I always seem to donate a good portion of those that I take to the underwater structures down there.

I like throwing my homemade bucktails with a Kalins 5" on it but I always keep 3 rods ready for casting and jigging and they always have a Swamp Monkey (white ice fluke), one of my bucktails and a Kast Master on them.
