Fished the confluence area, once of those “whatever I can find trips”.
I had the whole Arsenal on deck: Belly weight fluke Jighead fluke Ned C-rig Shakey head Spook Double dropshot with gulp minnows 1/4oz kastmaster
Charted a lot of water looking for shallow flats that fell off into steep drops, prior to the trip. Had several areas marked, fished only a couple.
First area, first 3 casts yielded large white perch on fluke and spoon. Worked that point, very complex, for two hours catching LMB, perch and some nice bluegills. Also chased a school of striper around that point with the livescope for a while, with only a couple missing flukes to show for it. They were very boat shy. Interesting note on this point, it had a bunch of planted brush AND the fish attractors that AEP placed. These things were loaded with fish….
From there I moved into a creek. C-rigged a lot of water for a handful of bass, all smallish. All were in 6-8’. Again found a lot of shallow WP, lots of them harassing my bait. Also found a sizable colony of gills and shell crackers.
Small spoons, underspins, and gulp minnows would catch a lot of perch right now casting real shallow….
