I have received notice that ... smlfishfinder.com/ ... will now become a pay / membership site. Occasionally I have checked the water temps or looked at the live camera feed from Captains Quarters, but not really that often. I'm going fishing if I get the chance, and the temp doesn't change my mind about that, if I can get out I will. There's plenty of people on here and other sites that can and will provide that info if you ask. Just wondering how many people will be willing to now pay to use this site, with so many other free options available?

I donated at the beginning and thought it only right with the effort they had put in. I see where it is a site to use it you have to pay 3 dollars a month. When I compare this to lets say Discovery + at 4.99 per month think for 2 dollars a month more will go with Discovery +. Not that I am going with that. It's just was trying to help someone local a step up, This is not that, I am sorry they took this approach.

Back in the day, there were two of these forums.
One had a password, and that’s where the reports went. The other was “open” and was for general discussion.
Both died.
In my opinion, if you have to hide your fishing reports behind a paywall, you probably ain’t much of an angler. Heaven forbid someone find “your spot”. And I feel the reverse is true too. If you are willing to pay for some fishing reports....

I’ve looked at this water temp site some, but I’m not going to pay $36/yr to do so. I might pay $36 for a lifetime subscription to help out as I know all to well these sites aren’t free, but I am not that hard up for water temps to pay it annually. I think the smithmountainlakelevel.com app has water temperature on it, if I remember right, along with the ice cream boat location!
And this site is dying a slow death thanks to Facebook, YouTube, etc. but it still has some activity and a great history of information. I plan to keep it going as long as people are around.

How about we set up something on the site that gives the days water temp posted by members. I was in the s curve today and the water temp was 68... If we could get others to just post that is good enough for anybody or at least me...

I suggest just posting there with the date, location, and temperature.
