Wt 59 ; 1-3ft viz depending on location Air, 40-50, clear, calm, hi pressure Not much pollen
Fished 8-11am on the Roanoke. Hit a bunch of spots between Lynville and Grimes, found fish pretty much everywhere I checked. 2-15’, on brush, under docks, on beaver huts, just about anywhere they should be. Found a couple groups of extraordinarily small crappies, but the majority were 8-10”. Caught 60 give or take a couple, all on jigs. Just about every color and body style worked. They just wanted to eat today. Left em biting everywhere I fished.
I’m not sure of the status of the spawn. I’m not seeing any real fat females, or finding fish shallow on banks. Maybe they’ve done it already.

I saw about the same things you did, only a handful of the crappie I caught had eggs in them

now that's a blue ribbon day, even if you were on small ones.

Indeed. They’ll teach you a thing or two as well...
