sorry to hear about the boat issues, H-bone. thanks for sharing what you saw. every little bit helps.
yep, prob threadfin but unless you look really close it's often hard to tell the diff. we didn't have a winter last year. and the winter before that was pretty tame. i'm also thinking spoons, maybe a blade bait. think the jerkbait bite will be a bit better, too.
i'll be out on SML a week from WED. there for 4 days. can't wait. LR forecast is looking promising.

Remembering back to the late winter timeframe of either ‘09 or ‘10, when we had the last serious shad dieoff.. By mid February it was dang near impossible to get the fish to eat, as they had a constant supply of dying baitfish, and had been enjoying that supply for quite some time. With the abundance of small bait this fall and the relative abundance of threadfins for the first time since the last die off, I imagine the fish have been enjoying a feast once again.
