Running behind as usual! Was able to get up to the lake and try our luck. Water temp was around 42-45 degrees, took us a few to get our groove but ended up with 7 stripers and 2 fat large mouths. All caught jigging in 20-80’ of water. All released to be caught again!
Hopefully I will be able to get up again soon.
Ps As Choochoo said, we stopped where we marked bait.. we really never saw blackout screen, fish were hidden and at times slap on the bottom! After we figured them out we ended up with a few anyway.. still my favorite time of year!

Yep, that Choo-dood knows his stuff. Nice work, especially the C-n-R part!

Great report as usual. Do you have more luck jigging a fluke type bait on a jig head or spoons this time of year?

LOL! I have a brand new Grayline tank that has never held water. Nobody has to get up at 3:00 AM to catch flukes.

🤣🤣 while I take it personally I like catching bait but it’s a love hate kind of thing.. it’s a lot nicer catching artificial baits from my box! And it’s warmer too..

Great report as usual. Do you have more luck jigging a fluke type bait on a jig head or spoons this time of year? Depends upon the depth for me. I have good luck on both! Biggest thing I found is the size factor, usually works in my favor to match the size of bait that’s around. And this year for me anyway I’m around smaller baits so I tend to use smaller lures.
