I haven’t made the trip yet this year but right around this time last year I was catching good sized saugeye below leesville dam.

Yeah there are a few walking paths below the dam with river access. Just listen out for the siren from the dam and get to high ground quick. You have about 2 minutes from the start of the alarm before they release water.
