Very quiet morning caught one 29” at 10am and that was it. No other action not even nervous bait. Caught on down rod at 35’ in 50 fow. Marked lots of fish everywhere but only the one made a mistake we left at noon. I have noticed the last 2 fish I’ve caught ate the bait very subtle, they didn’t take drag it just loaded up the rod and only after coming tight and reeling did it actually start to fight. Water temp was 42° Air temp was cold..upper 20s to low 30s

Well - at least you left the skunk at the lake!!
That action of them slowoly taking the bait kinda depends on the day and or fish.

Colder water does tend to result in more lethargic bites - or short strikes

I may add a stinger to a couple in the morning see if that changes anything.

another great fish - congrats! kinda cool seeing the colder water temps. we didn't have much of a winter last year. good to see some winter temps come in.

another great fish - congrats! kinda cool seeing the colder water temps. we didn't have much of a winter last year. good to see some winter temps come in. +1 to that. See some normal type bites when the temp gets right.
