Read an article today that Bass pro shops will be merging with sportsmen's some time in 2021.I spoke with George in the fishing dept. and he said it is true.

Hate to see SW lose its identity, always thought their stores were pretty neat and carried some brands/items not easily found in other stores.
I’m gonna disagree with you a bit on the “BPS branded junk” comment Mike. I agree some of the BPS brand stuff is lower end, but I’ve found some of their products to be great. Example would be the Johnny Morris Signature bait casting reels. I’ve used these now for 12-13 years, have caught lots of fish and have never had one fail. Only casting reel I use. I have several, including the very first one i ever bought still in service.
Not repping BPS here, probably only buy from them a couple times a year.
Like those reels though 😁
