I live a couple hours south of the lake, and got quite a bit of rain yesterday. Reading now about flooding in the Roanoke Valley area, with flooding. Hope everyone is ok, #1, and hope it doesn't mess the lake up too bad. Any thoughts from anyone of what might happen to the lake?

Lake seems fine. AEP has been anticipating serious rainfall by aggressively lowering the water level ever since the flood back in the Spring.
Def more stain in the water. Maybe 4 foot of visibility in the mid lake.

I live on the blackwater river above the lake. It was high and muddy. Now it’s just muddy.
It was not flood stage or anywhere near it.
The mud likely won’t push too far into the lake. But the back of every creek on the lake will probably be stained to muddy this week.
They’ll clear quick.

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I’ll be there the first week of December for the first time, 4-day trip. Hopefully I can give you guys a good report as I’m new to these boards. Normally fish Buggs this time of year. Thanks again.

The blackwater river is above flood stage today. The Roanoke is likely near it.
Gonna be muddy for a bit.

Lots of debris floating down the Blackwater now. There is a ton of debris all the way down to B33.

Figured it was coming. I live in NC just on the border around Mayberry (Andy Griffith Show), we had a crazy amount of rain, close to 8” total over a 24 hour span. It’ll really show it’s face by the weekend what’s actually coming down these rivers. So much still feeding them. Thanks to the responses, keep them coming as I’m already committed to coming. Stay safe out there.

The trash was approaching Beaverdam last night. It’ll be muddy to Halesford bridge.

I'm surprised that they didn't let more water out prior to this storm.
Went out on the jon boat (low -zero wake on a 2HP) yesterday to try my hand at finding the fish. Finally found some at small feeder creek but only caught a dink and missed a decent hookset. Was tough to get a bite.

They’ve got a deal with leesville that prevents a lot of drastic flow fluctuations. This isn’t flood control reservoir.
