Rod Musky Huntress 8’6’’ XH Pen 320 GT Righty for son so reel was mono line 25lb Big Game and home made steel leader made from down rigger cable. Typical I use 80lb braid and an abu C4 lefty with Muskie leader. Trolled with rod tips in the water so that the floating leaves etc. don't run down the line and foul the lure. The leaves hung on the rod, but boat wakes would shake them off. I like to point my rods straight out as you can read the lure action transmitted to the rod so these are the first few fish this way. With a small net played a catch and match the leaves game with my son color, tree type etc. Before heading to the lake looked at three different trolling applications decided not to buy them. Was happy to have the 25hp Jet at the end of the day as I hooked the bottom spun the boat around and made the drag scream on one of the rods. The propeller shaft got wrapped with mono. A fun day playing on the water.
