Fished Sunday am for about 3 hours at the dam. First time I had boat in the water in a year or so. Finally bit the bullet and repowered after years of an unreliable motor (1989 125 Force).
Fished with ales on down lines near the boom. Nothing to show for it and didn't mark anything of significance. A guide rolled in for a bit, which I thought was promising, but they didn't do anything either from what I could tell. Just breaking in the rebuilt motor, but I should now be able to travel up river without worrying about breaking down--which has kept me close to home for a couple of years. Refit my SBTII with the sock filter system posted about on here. Took a few adjustments to get the pipe height right and lost some bait when the pipe was too tall and the pump side kept draining out. If you try it, start high and just cut it down an inch or two at at time to set the balance right. Hope to fish a bunch this fall, winter and spring.
Absolutely beautiful sunrise, then fog rolled in which itself was cool.
