Hi all, I looking to fish the tournament out of Gills Creek Marina (formerly Optimist/Challenger Little League) this October and was curious to see if anyone had any recommendations on ways to transport striper to the weigh in since it is not a CPR tournament. I typically bass fish, but the livewell in the bass boat isn't big enough for a upper 20 inch striper, at least comfortably. Are there any other well known options for live transport? I have a good size 70qt cooler I could put an aerator in for quick transport. Just curious if you guys have any good solutions.
Thanks, Adam

Do a search on tuna tubes, some folks were using them for a travelling striper tour quite a few years back. Some people made their own from PVC. Not sure how successful they were, but probably more successful then putting them in a cooler of ice

I fished the tournament for SML Muskie and really questioned the legality of transporting the fish. I ended up borrowing a "stock tank" horse trough it was over 48 inches long and held over 100 gallons. I used a Christmas Tree storage bag that zips closed very similar to a body bag so the water wouldn't splash/slosh out. Then it was air tanks, water pumps etc. etc.
link OSTO Extra Large Tree Storage Bag 65x15x30-in Red_The bag proved to be great for 11.00 the link goes to Lowe's but I think I got mine on amazon. I carry it in the boat for rain storms and now camping for outside the tent dry storage. It's basically a zip up tarp. It would also hold water if you had a support frame with holes.
